3DE Global turns 3D laser scan data into accurate, information rich point cloud models.
You set the level of detail. At one end that is a registered point cloud you can measure and navigate. At the other it is intelligent reverse modelling, where the scan becomes a modelled structure you can detail new steel against.
The usual application is brownfield work: a plant modification, a tie-in to an existing structure, or a retrofit where the drawings are decades old and were never brought up to as built. A scan tells you what is actually there rather than what was drawn.
